Mangalore: Hamalis are neglected say CITU leaders
25 January 2011MANGALORE, April 21, 2010: The state government has neglected the Hamalis (head load labourers) though they are giving useful service to the society said the state president of the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Mr. B. Mr. Madhava said there were over 15 lakh Hamalis in the state most of them were working in big cities like Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Hubli-Dharwad and Belgaum. They are engaged in Railway stations, bus stands, market yards and wherever there is work for head load labour
